October Festivities

Students enjoyed our Halloween costume exchange and Diwali celebration!

This year, our school hosted its annual Halloween costume exchange, a beloved tradition that promotes sustainability and community spirit. Organized by our dedicated Community Liaison, Ms. Claudia, the event offered a wonderful opportunity for families to get involved while helping others.
Families were asked to donate any gently used costumes their children had outgrown. From adorable animal outfits to heroic superhero capes, a wide variety of costumes were collected in the weeks leading up to the holiday. On the day of the event, families were invited to browse the collection and choose a "new-to-you" costume for their child. The exchange-based model—bring one, take one—ensured everyone had a chance to participate. It was a bustling scene, with students excitedly searching for the perfect outfit to wear trick-or-treating. Beyond providing free costumes, the exchange fostered a sense of community by encouraging families to contribute to a great cause. It was a powerful example of how giving and receiving can strengthen bonds and teach children about the value of sharing.

Our school community came together for a vibrant and educational Diwali celebration after school, bringing the Festival of Lights to life for students, staff, and families. The event was a feast for the senses, filled with color, creativity, and delicious treats.
One of the main attractions was the henna station, where students and family members could receive intricate henna designs on their hands. The detailed patterns added a beautiful, festive touch and were a huge hit with participants. There were also a variety of treats where families tasted traditional Indian sweets and snacks. It was a wonderful way for our school community to connect with each other and share in the joy of the holiday.
