Working Together

We hope you are staying well and are safe at home during this time away from school. Our district and staff have been working to support students in various ways. Please remember to check the district COVID-19 Resource Page for the most updated information. Should you need support with school lunches or need to check out a chromebook for your 2nd -5th grade student (3/18 and 3/19), those schedules are listed under “Support for Students.”

Our district has currently shared a Flexible Learning Resource list that has many online learning options. We know this can be overwhelming and our CSI teachers are currently putting together more detailed learning supports for each grade level. Teachers will be sending these out by the end of this week to help guide you through the upcoming weeks. Each week we will update our plans with a few new learning suggestions. We are also working on ways to help students stay connected to teachers and to each other through this time.

My first suggestion for all families is to take a breath. During chaotic times we tend to rush to solutions. It is alright for families to slow down, find appreciation and gratitude in your time together, and spend some time playing board games, weeding the flower beds, or having an interesting conversation. Learning happens in many different forms and doesn’t stop outside of the school building. Our staff appreciates your support during this time and we will continue to develop and communicate our academic guides as we move ahead.

With much gratitude,

Kami Thordarson and the CSI staff
